Multiple horror festivals to feature ‘Re-Animator’

The Hudson Horror Show, the biannual horror festival in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., has a slate of six films for its sixth installment on Saturday, Dec. 1. Beginning at 1 p.m., the gorefest will include special screenings of Conan the Barbarian, Phantasm II, Re-Animator, The Devil’s Rain, Switchblade Sisters and Black Christmas.

The programming continues until midnight and will also include shorts and vintage trailers. All films will play in 35mm. Advance tickets are currently on sale for $26. Tickets at the door, if they remain, are $30 (cash only).

For those genre fans in New Jersey (or those who want double the H.P. Lovecraft), Crystal Plumage Films will host a double-bill screening of Re-Animator and Daughters of Darkness on Saturday, Nov. 17 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $13. The Hudson Horror Show is quickly becoming one of the top destinations in the Northeast for genre fun. Past festivals have included screenings of Friday the 13th, The Bird with the Crystal Plumage and Evil Dead II.

Vendors are also present at the Silver Cinemas at the South Hills Mall, 1895 South Road in Poughkeepsie (roughly 90 minutes from New York City. The organizers recommend bringing some extra money.
