Lee Majors, Valerie Harper, Patty Duke coming to Chiller Theatre in October
The biannual Chiller Theatre convention may have changed locations (from the Hilton Parsippany to the Sheraton Parsippany), but the dedication to presenting a motley variety of TV and film stars remains.
Top guests include Lee Majors (The Six Million Dollar Man), Virginia Madsen (Sideways), Barbara Carrera, Tom Wopat (The Dukes of Hazzard) and Penny Marshall (director of A League of Their Own).
The Oct. 26-28 show will feature the first-ever convention appearance of Paul Morrissey, director of the cult horror films Blood for Dracula and Flesh for Frankenstein, two projects overseen by the late Andy Warhol. Morrissey will appear Saturday and Sunday only.
Suspiria fans will still need to wait for an appearance by Dario Argento, but in the meantime they can meet Stefania Casini, one of the stars from the famous horror flick.
Valerie Harper will sign autographs, plus Lee Meriwether, Barbara Steele (Black Sunday), Adrienne Barbeau (Creepshow), Andrew McCarthy and Aileen Quinn (Annie). A Porky’s reunion is planned, with several members of the cast attending. Plus, there’s a host of child actors (now all grown up), including Billy Gray from The Day the Earth Stood Still, Karolyn Grimes from It’s a Wonderful Life and Barry Livingston and Stanley Livingston from My Three Sons.
Star Trek fans will be able to meet Robert Duncan McNeill, while Santa Claus will also stop by for a visit. A British horror invasion includes Sophia Myles, Valerie Leon, Caroline Munro and Martine Beswick. And, of course, the guest of honor is Zacherley, the Cool Ghoul.
Tickets are $20 in advance, or $25 at the door. Add an extra $5 for early entry on either Friday or Saturday.
