Star Wars toys and books are perennial favorites for any Christmas shopping list. Whether it’s the movies themselves, action figures or Legos fashioned after Darth Vader, the franchise’s gift options are numerous and never-ending.

This holiday season, lovers of George Lucas’ creation can check out the new book and mega model from Studio Fun International. The title says it all: Star Wars: Millennium Falcon.

After opening the hardcover tome, fans will find a skinny paperback book with stories and photos of the Falcon, plus some neat games and activities. The “Escape from Hoth” maze is a much appreciated addition.

Several Star Wars characters also receive write-ups in the book portion: Chewbacca, Han Solo, Lando Calrissian and Rey. These names should be obvious because they are the franchise characters most associated with the Millennium Falcon, especially Solo.

The book can be extracted from the overall hardcover binding and then reinserted thanks to a helpful flap. The design on this package, retailing at $17.99, is clever and creative, indeed.

The pièce de résistance is the model itself, which takes some time to piece together. Helpful instructions in the paperback book will aid fans of any age (the adults may need more help than the children). When it is complete, in all of its card-stock magnificence, appreciators of Star Wars will have even more entertainment at their hands. Grab that model, and let it fly through the air, all the while making funny sounds mimicking the shooting of lasers and the traveling at lightspeed.
