Dave Davies, the hugely influential guitarist of the legendary band the Kinks, will play Friday, April 11 at the Concert Hall at New York Society for Ethical Culture in New York City. Audience members should expect a set list that relies heavily on the Kinks’ many hits, but also some choice selections from Davies’ impressive solo career.

In fact, the musician’s solo career has been on his mind lately. His latest album is Decade, an archival collection of tracks from Davies’ solo contributions in the 1970s.

On the cover of the new album, Davies is seen sporting bellbottom jeans and longish hair, a deep gaze in his eyes. It’s a callback to a nostalgic time of important music. The tracks are some of his career highlights, including “Cradle to the Grave,” “Midnight Sun,” “If You Are Leaving” and “Mystic Woman.”

Following the NYC show, Davies will play concerts in New Jersey, Ohio, Indiana and Illinois, wrapping up the small stint of gigs at Chicago’s City Winery April 21.

In an exclusive interview with Hollywood Soapbox, Davies also revealed that he has been working with his brother, Ray Davies, on new songs for a possible release later this year. That’s a musical collaboration that fans of the Kinks have been clamoring for, and it appears their wishes will be answered.
