CON UPDATE: Patrick Stewart is coming to a town near you!
Patrick Stewart, best remembered for his role at Captain Jean Luc-Picard on Star Trek: The Next Generation, has a busy touring schedule in the coming year. If you live near a major metropolitan area, there’s a good chance you may be able to catch the star of X-Men and one of the most successful Star Trek franchises.
Stewart will take part in the historic Star Trek convention in London, Oct. 19-21. The three-day event will be only the second time that all five captains in the franchise are together (William Shatner, Stewart, Avery Brooks, Kate Mulgrew and Scott Bakula).
In 2013, Creation Entertainment is currently planning three conventions with Stewart. One is the annual Grand Slam convention featuring stars of several sci-fi series. The three-day event will take place Feb. 13-15, 2013, at the Burbank Airport Marriott Hotel in Burbank, Calif. Other celebrities expected to attend the event include Jonathan Frakes and Marina Sirtis of Star Trek: TNG, Bobby Clark from Star Trek: The Original Series, David Giuntoli from Grimm, Steven R. McQueen from The Vampire Diaries, Sam Witwer from Being Human and Battlestar Galactica, and Tyler Posey from Teen Wolf.
From May 31 to June 2, the official Star Trek convention will head to Westin O’Hare Hotel near Chicago. Few details have been announced, but Stewart and Brent Spiner will be in attendance.
Boston audiences will also receive a Star Trek event in 2013. On June 8-9, Stewart, Spiner, Frakes and Sirtis will stop by for the weekend. There will also be a Nashville convention on June 29-30, but no celebrity names have been announced.
Wizard World, which plans conventions around the nation, will present Stewart at its Austin Comic Con, Oct. 26-28. Other celebrities attending include Eliza Dushku, Dean Cain, Frakes, Spiner, Gates McFadden, James Marsters and Anthony Michael Hall.
Stewart will also attend the New Orleans Comic Con Nov. 30 to Dec. 2.
